The Leelanau County Sheriff's Office along with Elmwood Fire Department responded to a car/pedestrian accident on Cherry Bend Road north of Lincoln Road.
On Wednesday, January 29th, at 1339hrs, deputies responded to the above location reference a personal injury accident. Upon arrival deputies found a 52yr old male injured from being struck by a vehicle. The investigation showed a northbound Subaru being driven by a 68yr old woman from Traverse City swerved to avoid another vehicle backing out of a driveway. The Subaru slid out of control crossing over the southbound lanes on Cherry Bend Road leaving the roadway. The 52yr old male was snow blowing his driveway when the Subaru slid off the roadway striking the 52yr old male.
The male victim was treated at the scene for minor injuries and refused transport to the hospital. No citations were issued in relation to this accident.
