MC man arrested after trying to drive car on snowmobile trail
A 19 year-old Maple City man got stuck after trying to drive a car on the snowmobile trail near W Kasson Center Road in Kasson Township early Friday morning. Leelanau County Sheriff's deputies were sent to respond after a passerby saw the vehicle stuck off the road.Deputies made contact with the driver who admitted that he had been drinking and was trying to drive on the trail. The man did not have a license in addition to being drunk. He was arrested for Operating While Intoxicated.
Less that two hours later, a woman at Turtle Creek Casino reported to Grand Traverse Band Tribal Police that she had given her car to an acquaintance to go to the Acme McDonalds and he had not returned. The man was the driver arrested for OWI on the snowmobile trail in Kasson Township.
The driver remains jailed pending a bond being set.
