Alanson man brought to Leelanau on GTB tribal warrant

Robert U. Yellowbank, 39, was transported from Emmet County on a Grand Traverse Band Tribal bench warrant Wednesday.  The bench warrant stems from an original GTB domestic violence case.  He remains jailed pending a tribal court appearance.

TCPD arrest drunk driver

Traverse City Police responded to the report of a car in the ditch on E Traverse Highway near Morgan Farms in the annexed area of Traverse City in Leelanau County Wednesday at 11:56 pm.  A citizen told police that the possible was located a mile or so away at Tom's West Bay parking lot.

Police contacted the 52 year-old Maple City man who was snow covered and denied driving the ditched vehicle.  He eventually admitted that he had actually been driving and had consumed alcohol.  After failing field sobriety tasks, officers arrested him for Operating While Intoxicated and transported him to the Leelanau County jail since the offense occurred in the County.

The man remains jailed pending a bond being set by the magistrate.
