Tribal Police make arrest on Grand Traverse County warrant

Grand Traverse Band Tribal Police arrested Cecilia A. Aguayo, 23 of Suttons Bay Thursday.  GTB police were asked to assist by Grand Traverse County Sheriff's Office.  Aguayo was wanted on a misdemeanor contempt of court bench warrant.  She was arrested on Stallman Road at 3:17 pm and was taken to the Leelanau County jail where she was picked up by Grand Traverse County deputies.

Hot PBT lands probationer in jail

A 19 year-old Traverse City man on probation for Operating While Intoxicated and Use of Marihuana is in jail after failing a daily preliminary breath test.  Jared J. Chouinard violated terms of his probation when he blew a .07 at a daily PBT testing in Traverse City Thursday.  He was placed under arrest for a probation violation by Traverse City Police and turned over to Leelanau County corrections officers for transport to the Leelanau County jail.

Chouinard was stopped for erratic driving at 2:40am on November 24, 2012 on W. Traverse Highway near Carter Road in Elmwood Township.  Deputies observed signs of intoxication and Chouinard failed field sobriety tasks.  He was arrested for Operating while Intoxicated and blew .12% on the Datamaster breath test.  Deputies also discovered marihuana, a digital scale, 10 used marihuana pipes and various drug paraphernalia in the suspect's vehicle.  He later pleaded guilty to OWI and Use of Marihuana and was given 1 year of probation.

Chouinard remains jailed until he appears in District Court later today.
