2 car crash injures Jenison woman

An Easter crash at 1:46 pm on S. West Bay Shore Drive near E. Easling Dr. in Suttons Bay Township resulted in a minor injury.  Bette D. Essink, 89, of Jenison, was travelling behind a northbound vehicle driven by Jenna N. Lintelman, 20 of Suttons Bay.  Lintelman slowed and signaled to turn left into a private drive and as she made the turn, her vehicle was struck in the driver's side by Essink's vehicle.  Essink told a Leelanau County deputy that she may have been traveling too close to the turning vehicle.

Mrs. Essink reported an injured wrist as a result of the crash but declined treatment by Suttons Bay Fire & Rescue. She was cited for violation of basic speed law, too fast for conditions.
