Parolee arrested for violation

James M. Lapan of Mesick was arrested by Leelanau County deputies Thursday.  He was stopped for nearly causing a crash at W. Traverse Highway near Bay St. at 2:43 pm.  A license check showed that Lapan, 41, was not licenced to drive because of numerous drunk driving convictions.  He is on parole for 2 Operating While Intoxicated 3rd Offenses out of Wexford County in 2006 and 2007.

Lapan was released after posting interim bond pending a District Court hearing for Driving Suspended.

Probationer surrenders on bench warrant

A Suttons Bay man turned himself in at the Leelanau County jail after learning of a misdemeanor warrant for his arrest.  Adam M. Krantz, 22, was wanted for an unspecified probation violation.  He was convicted of Operating While Intoxicated after being arrested in February 2012.

Krantz is being held without bond pending a District Court appearance.
