Lake Leelanau woman arrested twice in five days

A 30 year-old Leland Township woman was arrested for the second time in five days on Monday afternoon.  She was recognized by a passing Leelanau County deputy who knew her not to have a license.  A traffic stop was made on Center Highway near Shady Lane and the driver was arrested again for Driving With a Suspended License 2rd Offense and Driving Without Security.

Deputies arrested the same woman on June 6 after a different deputy recognized her, also knowing she did not have a valid license.  Driving Suspended 2nd Offense is punishable by up to 1 year in jail.  The woman again posted $100 interim bond before seeing the magistrate.

Bond violation lands man in jail again

A Suttons Bay man was jailed Monday for violating bond conditions on Domestic Violence 2nd offense.  Teodoro R. Garcia, 32, violated his $25,000 personal recognizance bond and is jailed without bond pending future court hearings.  He is accused of assaulting the mother of his child on May 27, 2013.

Coincidentally, the victim in the domestic violence case is the defendant in the above-mentioned Driving Suspended case.
