Equipment Violation Results in Arrest

On 9/23/13, at approximately 2320hrs, a Leelanau Sheriff's deputy working on M72 near Allgaier Road observed a 2009 Chevrolet eastbound with a defective headlamp.  The deputy pulled over the Chevrolet and identified the driver as a 23yr old Traverse City woman.

Upon checking the woman through Dispatch, it was determined her driving privledges were currently suspended for due to a previous registration violation that was not taken care of.  The deputy issued the woman an appearance citation for driving while her driver's license was suspended on which she will be required to appear in 86th District Court.  The vehicle was left at the scene and the driver was picked up and taken home by a friend.
