Baby death probed

The death of a 10 month-old child is being investigated by the Leelanau County Sheriff's Office and Medical Examiner Dr. Matthew Houghton.  The baby was discovered not breathing while in a car seat in an Elmwood Township home at 11:49 am Monday.  Attempts to revive the infant by an adult at the home and Northflight Rescue personnel were unsuccessful.

An autopsy is being performed on the baby in Grand Rapids today.  At this point in the investigation there is no reason to suspect foul play.
