Rollover crash injures Cedar woman
A single car crash Tuesday afternoon sent the 18 year-old driver to the hospital. The incident was reported at 2:37 pm on S. Good Harbor Trail south of Eitzen Road in Centerville Township.
Hannah M. Scott was southbound when she lost control of her vehicle, spun around on the paved portion and rolled multiple times off the west side of the road. She was transported to Munson Medical Center by Cedar Rescue with incapacitating injuries. Alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
Two drunk drivers arrested overnight
Leelanau County Sheriff's deputies made two Operating While Intoxicated arrests early Wednesday morning. The first occurred at 10:55 am on S West Bay Shore Drive near Grandview Road. A northbound driver was travelling completely over the fog line allowing other northbound cars to pass alongside. A traffic stop was affected and the driver showed obvious signs of intoxication.The 55 year-old Plymouth woman admitted to drinking and failed all field sobriety tasks given. She was placed under arrest and registered .14% on the Datamaster breath test. She was released after posting $100 interim bond pending a Friday court appearance.
The second OWI arrest occurred at 2:56 am on W Traverse Highway near Bugai Road in Elmwood Township. A car was stopped for defective equipment, specifically loud exhaust. The 22 year-old Traverse City man shows signs of intoxication and also failed all field sobriety tasks given. The man remains lodged pending bond posting after his .13% Datamaster breath result.
