Cedar man arrested on Wexford County warrant
Leelanau County deputies arrested Myles A. Chapman, 29, at a home in Cedar Tuesday. He was able to post bond on the misdemeanor charge and will appear in Wexford County District Court in the future.Probationer surrenders on bench warrant
A 25 year-old Bingham Township woman turned herself in at the Leelanau County jail Tuesday after learning that there was a bench warrant for her arrest. Emily A. Marek was on probation after an Operating While Intoxicated conviction and is accused of failing a court-ordered drug test. A report has been presented to the Leelanau County Prosecutor's Office after a 24 year-old Leelanau Township woman drove to jail to visit an inmate. A corrections officer witnessed the woman drive into the parking lot and during visitor check in, learned that the driver's privileges were restricted. Driving to visit an inmate was not included as an exemption to the restrictions. The woman had a licensed driver in the vehicle with her.Elmwood Township man arrested for OWI
Leelanau deputies stopped a driver for having a headlight out and discovered that he was intoxicated and driving on a revoked license. The 39 year-old man was stopped at 10:22 pm Tuesday on E. Traverse Highway near Allgaier Road. The man showed signs of intoxication and was arrested for Operating While Intoxicated after failing field sobriety tasks. A driver's license check showed that his privilege to drive had been revoked by the State of Michigan.He was released on a $5,000 personal recognizance bond pending a district court appearance.
