Honor man cited for driving suspended

Not all calls are as they seem

A citizen reported finding a large clear baggie with several smaller baggies filled with green material inside.  It was found Thursday along S West Bay Shore Drive in Bingham Township.  A deputy responded and determined that the substance was actually decomposing lettuce!  It was not known how or why the bags ended up along the road.

Glen Arbor Fire & Rescue received a call from a man who said he was sinking in quicksand.  There was no call back number available or a location where the man was located.  Sheriff's deputies and fire officials believed the call was a hoax.

A Leelanau Township man called to report that he was being threatened by another man who was blowing leaves across the street.  A deputy responded and spoke to the two parties.  No enforcement action was taken.

Dailey was released Friday morning after spending the day in jail.  Weekly drug screens were increased to twice a week by the court.
