Car goes through intersection and hits retaining wall
A Glen Arbor woman told Leelanau County deputies that she fell asleep before running through a stop sign and striking a row of large boulders. Patricia R. Bulliss, 74, was northbound on S Benzonia Trail in Empire Township at 6:13 pm on Tuesday when she went through the intersection of S. Glen Lake Road. Her 2005 Buick Rendezvous went across a lawn and hit a protective rock wall which was constructed to prevent such a vehicle from striking the home at 8500 S. Glen Lake Road. Bulliss was transported to Munson Medical Center by Glen Lake Rescue for possible injuries. The vehicle's airbag did deploy and the driver was restrained. No one in the residence was injured and there was no damage to the home. A similar crash occurred on December 17, 2012 when a vehicle went through the same intersection, rolled over and into the dining room of the house next door to 8500 S. Glen Lake Road. No one in that home was injured.
