Winter storm not as bad as elsewhere

Although Leelanau County took another blast of winter last night, no county schools were cancelled and there were no reports of injury crashes.  Winter road conditions are still present so drivers need to continue to exercise caution.

There were six cars that were reported in the ditch in the last 24 hours, one upside down.  But the winter weather wasn't as much of a factor for everyone.  A local high school basketball player wearing shorts was walking home when he was given a ride home by a deputy at 7:00 pm.  A 66 year old Florida man and his cat were given a ride to Traverse City by Tribal Police at 2:35 am.  He was walking southbound from Peshawbestown.
