Driver goes in the ditch, then to jail
A 28 year old Leelanau Township man was uninjured when his northbound car left the roadway and struck some metal poles at 2:20 am. The incident happened on S West Bay Shore Drive north of Carter Road in Elmwood Township. Deputies arrived and determined that the man was intoxicated. He was arrested for operating while intoxicated.
Crash lands Leland man in jail, passenger with MIP ticket
A 20 year old Leland Township man had possible injuries from a rollover crash on S Manitou Trail near Sugar Loaf Mountain Rd. The crash occured at 6:15 am and the driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated after an investigation by deputies. His 16 year old passenger from Interlochen was transported to Munson Medical Center for possible injuries and was cited for being a minor in possession of alcohol

Unreported crash under investigation
Deputies are investigating a crash which occurred on W Traverse Highway east of S Coleman Rd. At 4:57 am a citizen reported a vehicle off the road and on its roof with no one around. Deputies followed foot tracks in the fresh snow from the vehicle to a nearby residence but were unable to get anyone to answer the door. The incident remains under investigation.

Another rollover, another arrest
A rollover crash on S Maple City Road near W Kasson Center Road landed a 22 year old Traverse City man in jail. The crash occurred at 1:40 am when the southbound vehicle left the roadway and rolled over, hitting a mailbox in the process. The driver declined medical attention for possible injuries from the incident. He was arrested for operating while intoxicated.
