LARCENY OF JEWELRY REPORTED

The theft of a jewelry box was reported by a Leland Township resident at 12:25 pm.  The victim said a jewelry box containing valuable watches, rings and a necklace was last seen around Thanksgiving. There was no forced entry into the residence and the exact value of the stolen items has not yet been determined.  The case remains under investigation.

FREEZING RAIN MAKES DRIVING DIFFICULT

Warming temperatures and freezing rain has made roads in Leelanau County a challenge.  There have been several vehicles that have slid off the road but no reported crashes.  Drivers are reminded to clear snow and ice off all windows for maximum visibility and to replace worn wiper blades.
