Tuesday crash sends 3 to hospital

A two car crash in Solon Township sent both drivers and a 12 year-old passenger to Munson Medical Center.

Leelanau County Sheriff's deputies investigated the crash that occurred on E Traverse Highway at S Cedar Road at 7:40 pm.  Jeramy N. Seabolt, 39, of Kalkaska, was southbound on S Cedar Road and did not stop at the stop sign.  His vehicle struck a westbound vehicle driven by Trista L. Erickson, 41, of Interlochen.

Seabolt's Toyota Tacoma pickup struck Erickson's Chrysler Pacifica mini-van on the passenger side where Kadyn W. Duford, 12, was seated.  Erickson's vehicle was forced off the roadway into the ditch from the impact of the crash.  All three sustained multiple injuries and were transported to Munson by Cedar Rescue and Northflight.

All occupants were wearing safety belts and there was airbag deployment in Seabolt's truck.  It was raining at the time of the crash and alcohol was not a factor.  The accident remains under investigation and enforcement action may be taken after the investigation is complete.
