Single car crash sends Cedar woman to the hospital

An afternoon accident on E Duck Lake Road in Suttons Bay Township caused minor injuries to the 83 year-old driver.  Lottie L. Kondal of Cedar was eastbound near N Marek Road at 3:44pm Tuesday.  Her car went onto the gravel shoulder and she over-corrected, causing her vehicle to cross the road and roll onto it's top.

She was transported to Munson Medical Center by Suttons Bay EMS with minor injuries.  Speed and alcohol were not factors in the crash and the driver was wearing a safety belt.

Two arrested on unrelated warrants

Michigan State Police arrested Kitchi-Kishap Shomin, 28, of Suttons Bay Tuesday.  He was wanted for a parole violation resulting from a 2009 Attempted Armed Robbery conviction.  He is being held in the Leelanau County jail pending release on the detainer.

Grand Traverse Band Tribal Police arrested Micha L. Castaneda Tuesday.  Castaneda, 29, of Suttons Bay, was picked up on a Friend of the Court bench warrant for unpaid child support.  She remains jailed with a $962 bond.
