Suspicious Situation Results in Minor in Possession Charge

On Wednesday, 8-27-13, at approximately 2333hrs, the Leelanau County Sheriff's Office responded to a possible theft complaint at the Indigo Bluffs Resort, 6760 West Empire Highway in Empire Township.  Upon arrival deputies spoke to a reporting party at a camp site who indicated camper next to them had attempted to steal some of their belongings.

Deputies investigated the incident and found one of the next door campers was a 19yr old male from Central Lake Michigan that had been consuming alcohol.  The other camper there was a 36yr old from Green Bay Wisconsin.

The 19yr old was cited into 86th District Court for being a minor in possession of alcohol.  He was released pending his appearance in Court.
