More cold weather keeps things quiet in the County

Daytime temperatures in the 60s that dipped into the 50s kept things quiet in Leelanau County over the past 24 hours.  No doubt activity will pick up with increased temperatures predicted for the coming weekend.

Larceny from vehicle in Glen Arbor reported

A St John's man reported that several items were taken from a locked vehicle.  The victim said the items were taken while he was in a Glen Arbor restaurant at 4:48 pm Tuesday.  An iPod touch with headphones and $10 cash were reported missing.  The victim told Leelanau dispatch that he was on the way home to St. John's and didn't have time to meet a deputy for a report.

Sign thieves captured on video in Cedar

Store security video captured 5 people ripping a sign off a Cedar business Tuesday.  The incident occurred around 8:24 pm Tuesday at Bunting's Market.  Store employees reported that 4 males and a female appearing to be in their 20's tore a sign off the sign of the store and threw it into the back of a blue extended cab pickup truck.

Anyone who may have information regarding the theft is asked to call the Leelanau County Sheriff's Office tipline at 231-256-8696 or tips@co.leelanau.mi.us.
