Grand Traverse Band Tribal Police arrested David D. Weese on the GTB reservation Tuesday.  Weese, 23, was wanted for contempt charges relating to Friend of the Court unpaid child support.  He was released after posting bond.

Deputies arrest driver for High BAC

A 33 year-old Cedar man was arrested Tuesday after he was stopped for driving in the oncoming lane.  A Leelanau County deputy had to take evasive action to avoid a collision as the driver came over a hill on Bellinger Road near Darga on the wrong side of the road.  The driver admitted to drinking 12 beers before driving.

After making contact with the driver, the deputy determined there was probable cause to further investigate for OWI.  The man failed field sobriety tasks and was arrested.  He had a .19% Datamaster breath test result and was charged with Operating While Intoxicated with a High BAC.

The driver remains jailed pending bond being set by the magistrate.
