Elmwood Township Woman Arrested

Leelanau County deputies arrested Cynthia L. Alexander, 22, of Traverse City at 4:35 pm Friday at her Elmwood Township workplace.  She was arrested on a Contempt of Court warrant from Grand Traverse County.  Alexander was turned over to Grand Traverse County deputies.

Man Arrested for Driving without a License

A 29 year-old Elmwood Township man was stopped for a traffic violation at 10:55 pm Friday on S. West Bay Shore Drive near Carter Road.  It was learned that he had never obtained a Michigan driver's license.  He was taken into custody and later posted $100 interim bond pending a District Court arraignment.

Suttons Bay Township man lodged for OWI

A 33 year-old Peshawbestown man was stopped for erratic driving on S. West Bay Shore Drive near Cedar Cove at 1:15 am Saturday.   Signs of intoxication were present so Leelanau County deputies performed field sobriety tests and arrested him for Operating While Intoxicated.  The driver's blood alcohol content was .16%.  He was released on a $1000 personal recognizance bond.

Driver arrested for Third Offense OWI

A 31 year-old Glen Arbor Township man was arrested for Felony Operating While Intoxicated at 8:15 pm Friday.  A Leelanau County deputy made a traffic stop on Burdickville Road near Coleman Road after observing the driver speeding and for following the patrol car too closely.  

Contact was made with the driver, field sobriety tests were conducted and he was arrested. The driver had a .13% Datamaster result.  He was released on $15,000 personal recognizance bond for Felony OWI.  His prior OWI convictions were in 2002 and 2011.

Two Arrested for Contempt of Court

Two men were sentenced to 3 days in jail for separate and unrelated Contempt of Court charges.  Steven F. Rozanski, 49, Traverse City, surrendered to serve the sentence after violating probation on an OWI Second offense conviction.  Rozanski was arrested on August 7, 2012 for Operating While Intoxicated and had a blood alcohol content of .19%.

Justin T. Lopez, 17, Cedar, was found in Contempt of Court for a probation violation.  He was adjudicated in Family Court after driving without a license on May 7, 2012 and was given 3 days in jail for violating probation. 

Leland Township man Arrested for Failure to Appear

Deputies arrested Chancey J. Kelly at his residence in Lake Leelanau Friday for failing to appear on a Driving while Suspended charge.  Kelly, 27, was cited on January 25, 2013 after he drove his car into the ditch on E. Duck Lake Road near Macksey Road in Suttons Bay Township.  Kelly's driving privileges had been suspended by the Secretary of State.  He failed to appear in court as directed.

Kelly was released after posting $100 interim bond pending another court date.

Suttons Bay Township woman Arrested for Circuit Court Probation Violation

Brandi M. Mikowski, 21, was arrested at a home in Elmwood Township Friday for a Circuit Court probation violation.  Mikowski was on probation after a Grand Traverse County larceny conviction and a warrant was issued after a probation violation.  She was turned over to Grand Traverse deputies after her arrest.
