Traffic stop leads to 4 MIP tickets

A Leelanau County Sheriff's deputy stopped a car for travelling 84 miles an hour at 11:31 pm Monday.  The stop occurred on E. Traverse Highway near Cedar Run Road in Kasson Township.

When the deputy made contact with the 4 occupants from Traverse City, he determined that all had been consuming alcohol and were under 21 years of age.  Minor in Possession of Alcohol citations were issued to a 17 year-old, two 18 year-olds and a 19 year-old.  

The driver was determined not to be intoxicated and was given a speeding ticket in addition to the MIP.
